  1. Tying up horses or donkeys. I would hate to think it was for chaining up prisoners or slaves, but considering how old Gibraltar is it could be possible.

    • Good answer, but not the right one!! As far as I know, there have never been slaves here, although it may have been possible during the moorish reign. I will leave this up for a few days and then put you out of your misery!! 🙂

  2. They are the rings from bulls. Giant, mythical, magical bulls that once roamed the region. They were arrogant and loud and full of themselves. They were prideful and lustful and had no regard for the land or the people so they were restrained until they learned their lesson. Once the lesson was learned they were free to rejoin society as productive, respectful citizens. The rings remain as a reminder to anyone that feels a little big for their britches. [oh, no, wait…that’s what I would tell my kids and then we’d run to the local piercing shop to have their noses ringed so when they act up on our vacation I can tie them up!]

  3. I’m sure I left a comment about this but there must have been a glitch on the matrix! They were used for ropes to hoist up cannons weren’t they? I also mentioned how I loved Kevil’s comment!
